The Maltese trademark system is based on TRADEMARKS ACT (CHAPTER 416) [It is the ACT XVI of 2000, as amended by Act IX of 2003; and Legal Notices 181 and 186 of 2006, and 426 of 2007] and Trademarks Rules 2000.

MALTESE TRADEMARK FEES
Separate fees are levied for each trade category and for each jurisdiction where registration is sought. Typically, however, the costs per trademark or service mark inclusive of legal research, filing fees and professional fees, are as follows.

Maltese Trademark   $3,500

[NOTE: this represents $2,500 in professional fees plus $1,000 in statutory governmental filing fees and estimated costs.]

Slightly higher fees are charged for International Trademark Registration pursuant to the Madrid Agreement and Protocol.
